Public Policy
The Tampa Bay Partnership's Public Policy mission is to build consensus and a unified regional position on key issues that affect regional economic development.
Policy Taskforces
The Tampa Bay Partnership is considered a voice for all eight counties in Tallahassee and Washington D.C. Local governments look to the Partnership to convene the regional governements on critical policy issues. Through the implementation of taskforces, the Partnership addresses some of the issues that impact regional economic development.
Legislative Advocacy
The legislative advocacy taskforce coordinates efforts in Washington D.C. and Tallahassee, through events such as the Washington and Tallahassee Fly-Ins. The taskforce builds relatonships with state and federal legislators to ensure passage of key agenda items in order to encourage economic vitality in the region.
Transportation
The transportation taskforce works to determine projects of regional importance to accelerate completion; to seek to improve local source funding at state and federal levels through ongoing advocacy efforts; to improve local source funding as well as to increase chances of state and federal matches; and to achieve improved infrastructure in the region through pursuing multi-modal strategies. The task force is composed of private sector business leaders from each of the seven counties
Health
The health taskforce advocates for regional issues that impact the region's economic development and competitiveness. Composed of a multi-sector group, that includes the provider communtiy, insurance industry, business leaders, elected officials, HR professionals, and health care planning community, the taskforce focuses on issues related to accessibility, affordability, and quality of care. They also monitor legislative initiatives in Tallahassee and Washington and ensures that Tampa Bay's voice is heard in Florida's and the nation's growing health care debate.
Redevelopment
The redevelopment taskforce is an essential part of the region's overall economic development strategy for marketing and public policy. The taskforce advocates for additional state and federal funding to strengthen existing or create new governmental programs to support the redevelopment initiatives of Tampa Bay's cities and counties.
